Servanthood!

Dear N276,
Im here to share a revelation from God to me...

In 2 Cor 6:4 & 2 Cor 4:17 :
4 But in all things we commend ourselves as ministers of God: in much patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses,

17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,

Just when Pst Tan preached, the email by GOD's Minute arrive in my inbox. LOL v timely indeed..
haha the verse speaks about servanthood, at first read like that dont understand v much.. so i search for the Message version... hahha and it's here below!

2 Corinthians 6
Staying at Our Post

1-10Companions as we are in this work with you, we beg you, please don't squander one bit of this marvelous life God has given us. God reminds us, I heard your call in the nick of time; The day you needed me, I was there to help.Well, now is the right time to listen, the day to be helped. Don't put it off; don't frustrate God's work by showing up late, throwing a question mark over everything we're doing. Our work as God's servants gets validated—or not—in the details. People are watching us as we stay at our post, alertly, unswervingly . . . in hard times, tough times, bad times; when we're beaten up, jailed, and mobbed; working hard, working late, working without eating; with pure heart, clear head, steady hand; in gentleness, holiness, and honest love; when we're telling the truth, and when God's showing his power; when we're doing our best setting things right; when we're praised, and when we're blamed; slandered, and honored; true to our word, though distrusted; ignored by the world, but recognized by God; terrifically alive, though rumored to be dead; beaten within an inch of our lives, but refusing to die; immersed in tears, yet always filled with deep joy; living on handouts, yet enriching many; having nothing, having it all.

2 Cor 4:17
16-18So we're not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There's far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can't see now will last forever.

yea i know it's cool! just have some flashbacks of moments serving in bookstore, when i just join till now..
i used to be a v blur person, not steady and unclear, yea also asking a lot of questions abt everything...thinking back i felt that serving indeed helped mould my character or my capacity has been stretched.. u may not see it in the short run, but as you serve, to be honest, you will definitely increase in many areas of your life!

Also, sometimes really even my mind is telling me what is the point of serving until u even hav to skip a meal or even meals.. like torturing myself.. but then at the end of the day it's just v fulfulling and it's like everyone serve tgh for God, it's really wonderful and a privellege!

Pst Tan said, if u want to be great in the kingdom of God, you must serve more!
Imagine if Jesus din nt come to give His life for our sins, what will happen to you and me?
He has given us lives, new lives, to become better individuals everyday, to be free!
Free to love and to rcv love from God and people! So it is the same for us, that we serve others like Jesus did.

What I mean that by serving we can become more like Jesus? Now Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father, enjoying His glory, He is the Name that is above any names! (read 2 Cor 4:17 again!) Our eternal life and glory awaits us in heaven! Amen!

Lord of my life

Dear N276,
I want to share a little about SOT!

This has been a miracle month for me, I believe both me and yvonne are growing!

Let me share more about how I come to SOT... firstly, i totally missed out writting that I want to go Uni in 2008! haha I'll be going next year January instead, alr got a placement in SIM- European Culinary Management! Praise GOD!

Secondly, I really felt this desire and need to up my spiritual level and devotion to God, more or less testing myself... more than I've imagine it to be just a spiritual "thing"; but really my everything.

I really learnt a lot, I guess most importantly, this period I really humble myself, in every aspect of my life and just centre my life around SOT, zoom into GOD!

I never once feel it's unfulfilling, even it is painful to my flesh. Waking at 6am every day and being in financial difficulties. But I truly believe God will honor me more than how I honor Him, for He is a God of more than enough!

really must come to a point to believe He is all I need and will need! Must keep on resist the devil strongly and open my heart and life towards GOD.
there is definitely a lot of things we can learn, so want to encourage you in this area.

For me also I'm currently taking Gifts of the Holy Spirit , and we learn abt the 9 different gifts or manifestation of the Spirit.

1 Corinthians 12 http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20cor%2012;&version=31;

7Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. 8To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, 9to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, 10to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.11All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he gives them to each one, just as he determines.

In this chapter, Apostle Paul describes the spiritual gifts, if you read it u'll find that he doesn't say that "to some" but "to each one"! This means to every individual believer; not matter how ill-deserving we are. He allows the Holy Spirit to manifest in our lives, at least one gift each! WOW!
It has been like this, every session in school is mind-blowing and challeges us all to change our thinking and renewing our mindset.

N276, why not let's find out more about the spiritual gifts God has bless you with and practice them, put them to good use! You can be wrong at times, but as long as you are right standing in God's eyes, it's perfectly fine! For these things we have, we use them unto the Lord and bless the people around us. It is non-profitable to ourselves, but using the gifts we are testimony of God's grace and goodness! Amen!

Love, Tong

GOD's Minute

GRACE TO YOU AND PEACE FROM GOD YOUR FATHER AND THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. ( EPHESIANS 1:2 *NKJV )

A Letter From: GOD

MY DEAR CHILD, DO YOU NOT KNOW THAT YOUR BODY IS THE TEMPLE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT WHO IS IN YOU, WHOM YOU HAVE FROM GOD, AND YOU ARE NOT YOUR OWN? ( 1 CORINTHIANS 6:19 )

NOW IF WE LIVE IN THE SPIRIT, LET US ALSO WALK IN THE SPIRIT. LET US NOT BECOME CONCEITED, PROVOKING ONE ANOTHER, ENVYING ONE ANOTHER. ( GALATIANS 5:25-26 )

SO WATCH AND PRAY, LEST YOU ENTER INTO TEMPTATION. THE SPIRIT INDEED IS WILLING, BUT THE FLESH IS WEAK. ( MATTHEW 26:41 ) I SAY THEN: WALK IN THE SPIRIT, AND YOU SHALL NOT FULFILL THE LUST OF THE FLESH. FOR THE FLESH LUSTS AGAINST THE SPIRIT, AND THE SPIRIT AGAINST THE FLESH; AND THESE ARE CONTRARY TO ONE ANOTHER, SO THAT YOU DO NOT DO THE THINGS THAT YOU WISH. ( GALATIANS 5:16-17 )

LIKEWISE THE SPIRIT ALSO HELPS IN OUR WEAKNESS. FOR WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT WE SHOULD PRAY FOR AS WE OUGHT, BUT THE SPIRIT HIMSELF MAKES INTERCESSION FOR US WITH GROANINGS WHICH CANNOT BE UTTERED. ( ROMANS 8:26-27 )

FOR THOUGH I AM ABSENT IN THE FLESH, YET I AM WITH YOU IN SPIRIT, REJOICING TO SEE YOUR GOOD ORDER AND THE STEADFASTNESS OF YOUR FAITH IN CHRIST. ( COLOSSIANS 2:5 )

Easter God's Minute! COOL!

Today we will take a look at the 22nd Psalm. A Psalm that is often called the "Crucifixion Psalm." Many Biblical Scholars believe that Jesus was reciting this very Psalm as He hung on the cross. I believe that as well, thus our Savior was teaching His Holy Word up to the very end of HIS Human Life.

Therefore let us compare verses of this Psalm, with verses in the New Testament describing the actual events leading up to the Crucifixion of our dear Lord and Savoir Jesus Christ.

Remember that this Psalm was written 1000 years before the birth of Jesus, thus we will see why David was indeed a Prophet of God!

( PSALM 22:1 ) MY GOD. MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?

From New Testament: ( Mark 15:34 ) 34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?" which is translated, "My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?"
____________________
( PSALM 22:7-8 ) ALL THOSE WHO SEE ME RIDICULE ME; THEY SHOOT OUT THE LIP, THEY SHAKE THE HEAD, SAYING, HE TRUSTED IN THE LORD, LET HIM RESCUE HIM.

Written In: ( Matthew 27:39-43 ) 39 And those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads 40 and saying, "You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross." 41 Likewise the chief priests also, mocking with the scribes and elders, said, 42 He saved others; Himself He cannot save. If He is the King of Israel, let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe Him.
43 He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now if He will have Him; for He said, 'I am the Son of God.' "
_________________
( PSALM 22:16 ) FOR DOGS HAVE SURROUNDED ME; THE CONGREGATION OF THE WICKED HAS ENCOMPASSED ME THEY PIERCED MY HANDS AND MY FEET.

Written In: ( John 19:17-18 ) 17 And He, bearing His cross, went out to a place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha, 18 where they crucified Him,

_________________
( PSALM 22:15 ) MY STRENGTH IS DRIED UP LIKE A POTSHERD, AND MY TONGUE CLINGS TO MY JAWS; YOU HAVE BROUGHT ME TO THE DUST OF DEATH.

Written In: ( John 19:28 ) 28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, "I thirst!"

__________________
( PSALM 22:18 ) THEY DIVIDE MY GARMENTS AMONG THEM, AND FOR MY CLOTHING THEY CAST LOTS.

Written In: ( Matt 27:35 ) 35 When they had crucified him, they divided up his clothes by casting lots.

_________________
( PSALM 22:22 ) I WILL DECLARE YOUR NAME TO MY BROTHREN; IN THE MIDST OF THE ASSEMBLY I WILL PRAISE YOU.

Written In: ( Hebrews 2:12 ) 12 saying:" I will declare Your name to My brethren; In the midst of the assembly I will sing praise to You." _________________

Now, you be the judge, was indeed Jesus teaching Psalm 22 as He hung from the Cross, and was Psalm 22 being fulfilled or not?

Prayer in this N276

Let's pray together for....

  1. the hearts of the people will be open and they will sense the love of God as we invite them to come.
  2. the CG will experience great growth in March and that every service will grow.

BECOMING AN EVANGELISTIC CHRISTIAN

This week we will be celebrating Easter and we are all believing God for a great harvest!
- We should never get tired of winning the lost!

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. (Acts 1:8)

  • Jesus came to save the lost, this was His mission.

I believe that deep in our hearts, as all true followers of Christ, we also long to become evangelistic, soul-winning, “contagious” Christians.

Although some of us may be unsure about how to do so or what are the risks involved ...
- Deep down, they sense that there isn’t anything as rewarding as seeing a person opening up to God’s love and truth.
- We want to see the lost being saved like never before here in Singapore, as well as in the mission field.

However, we will not take decisive action unless we first raise our motivation level.
- And one of the best ways to become motivated = getting God’s perspective on evangelism.

There are two main motivations we will study.

MOTIVATION #1: PEOPLE MATTER TO GOD.

God’s ultimate priority = bringing salvation to the lost!

God wants to save the sinners.
- He has an unquenchable passion to find those who are lost.

How do we know that? Let’s consider the following four points:

1. God longs to save the lost.

Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him. And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, “This Man receives sinners and eats with them.” (Luke 15:1-2)

  • One day, Jesus was teaching in a major city center.

He found Himself surrounded by two groups of people:
    • The tax collectors and sinners.
    - The non-religious, the “undesirables,” the spiritually-confused, the morally- bankrupt people of the town.
    - People who mostly felt that God wouldn’t have any use for them.

    • The Pharisees and scribes.
    - The religious people, well-educated, those who obeyed the laws of God.
    - People who thought quite highly of themselves.

They were complaining about Jesus hanging out with the group of “undesirables” in society.

Jesus knew exactly what they were thinking about and got very upset.

So He told a series of three parables in succession ... to make sure everybody understood who or what really mattered to God.
    · The Parable of the Lost Sheep (v3-7)
    · The Parable of the Lost Coin (v8-10)
    · The Parable of the Lost Son (v11-24)

Notice the common thread that runs through these three parables in Luke 15.

In each story, something of great value was missing, and it was something that really mattered to the person affected.
    · The wandering sheep was very important to the shepherd.
    · The lost coin was vital to the woman.
    · The confused son mattered greatly to his father.

Jesus is showing us through these three simple stories that the wanderers, the lost, and the spiritually confused, are actually of great value to our heavenly Father!

That day, when Jesus’ listeners put all that together, they were probably crushed by the weight of God’s love.
    - A love so great that it could look beyond sin, to treasure the wayward people.

A love so powerful that it could patiently endure years of resistance, selfish pleasure-seeking, money-chasing, and power-wielding.

In the face of all this, God’s love says, “Even though you’re way off the track, you still matter to Me! You really do!”

That is the kind of compassion God has for fallen humanity.

    - And, friends, if we are not careful, we can all fall into the same religious pride of the Pharisees.

The truth is: people matter to God and therefore, they should matter—and really matter—to US!

When you start looking at other people with the same kind of attitude Jesus had, you will be totally revolutionized in the way you treat people.

The three parables in Luke 15 clearly tell us that there is no human being who is not valuable to God.

    - When that truth becomes a revelation to you and grips the core
of your being, you will never be the same!

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. (2 Pet. 3:9)
  • God desires for all to come to repentance.

Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Tim. 2:1-4 )
  • God desires all men to be saved and know the truth—the truth of His love for them.

All right, people matter to God ... but how much?

    2. God is concerned for actual souls.

NOTE: In the three parables in Luke 15, we see another important point:

Whatever was missing was important enough to warrant an all-out search.

    · The sheep gets lost, the shepherd “goes after the one which is lost until He finds it (v4).”
    · The coin was missing and the woman searched the whole house until she located it (v8).
    · The wayward son ran away and the father’s eyes kept scanning the horizon, refusing to rest until the son came back home (v20).

These parables emphasize an “actual finding.”
    - God does not believe in just talking about evangelism.

    - He is eager for actual souls.

Do you not say, ‘There are still four months and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!
    (John 4:35)
  • Jesus says the time for the harvest is now! - But simply proclaiming His lordship alone to these people is not enough!
    - Laborers must be sent ...

Then He said to His disciples, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. 38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” (Matt. 9:37-38)

God wants the grain cut, bound in sheaves, and carried back into His barns—the Church!

And whoever will not receive you nor hear your words, when you depart from that house or city, shake off the dust from your feet. (Matt. 10:14 )

Jesus instructed His disciples not to waste time with those who rejected the gospel
- But to move on to those who would be ready to receive it.

Christians are people on a mission ... we are in a race against time.

Then the master said to the servant, ‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. (Luke 14:23)

  • We must try our best to persuade, challenge and influence others to be saved.

But like the father of the prodigal son, we must respect the freedom of the lost.

    - So although we don’t force or bribe people into salvation, we must share God’s love and care with great urgency.

    3. God’s primary purpose in sending Jesus is to save the lost.

God’s singular purpose for sending Jesus Christ to the earth is recorded throughout the New Testament.

for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost. (Luke 19:10)
  • Jesus came to seek and save the lost.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. (John 3:16-17)
  • It is through Jesus Christ that the world will be saved.
    - This is Jesus’ primary purpose ... to save the lost!
    - Everything else is secondary.

As followers of Jesus Christ, we have absolutely no business in entangling ourselves with secondary issues while His primary purpose is left unattended.

Which leads us to the last point ...

    4. God’s primary mission for believers is to win the lost.

What is God’s plan and purpose for us here on earth?
    - To worship Him? To study His Word? To serve Him in His
    house?

    - We can do all that for eternity in heaven... but there is one thing we cannot do in heaven—save the lost!

Many Christians faithfully go to church and worship God, yet, they still feel unfulfilled in their life ... something is missing.

So, what is God asking us to do?

The primary mission for us here on earth is to evangelize to the lost and win them into the kingdom of God.

    - That is the only one thing we can do on this side of heaven.
    - God wants us to be the channel of His love to reconcile the world back to Him.

    John 20:21 (Jesus said:)
“... As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”

    Matt. 28:19-20
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have
commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end
    of the age.”

As we go forth to obey the Great Commission, our life will take on a new dimension of joy, purpose and fulfillment.

    CONCLUSION
    Friends, people matter to God!
    - Let’s be motivated by the love of God that we have experienced and begin to share it with others. Over the remaining days until Easter, let’s begin to evangelize like never before!

Character 101

To all my dear n276 brothers hope that this can help us all to grow even more.
I really felt being lead by the Spirit to share what i've learn tyesterday in th yk's manhood confrence.
The title is Character 101 and it speaks about our character that can lead us to grow...

In 2 Tim.2:1
You therefore,My son,be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
In here we see that God has called us His son and telling us to be strong in the grace of our Lord...Which means that God wanted us to Rise up and grow from strenght to strength and from glory to glory...

And in Deut.2:6
"You shall buy food from them with money, that you may eat;and you shall also buy water from them, that you my drink."For the food in here speaks of the word of God that satisfy our hunger and the water is the presence of the Spirit that quenches our thirst..Coz we can't be able to grow without the word of God and the Holy Spirit.

In 2 Tim.2:2
And the things that you have heard from man among many witnesses, commit these to the Faithful men who will be able to Teach others also.
Well we know that we are all able to do things and to perform our talent. But What God had said in here is that we are to be faithful in the things that we do.
We can't do things with our abilities without faithfulness and we can't be able to work faithfully without abilities.
For Faithfulness is the conerstone to character.
And we need to be Teachability. And taechability is the ability to learn from anyone at anytimeregardless of age and intelligence.
-The reason for unteachability is stuborness,it is the call to ignorance.

For there are 3 points that we can note about character..
point 1:The difference between character and ability is that your character can take you to where your ability can't sustain you.
For we have all read about Abraham that when ever he stop at a place to rest he will built an altar there to God before he pitches his tent.
Which means that we must learn to build our character to be like God and then go on to sharpen our abilities.

Point 2:Age has nothing to do on how develope our character is,Maturing on the other hand comes untill the acceptance of responsibility.
-How we handle presure shows how mauture we are.
And the responsibilities that God has place in us is,
to be the Priest first which is to guard the people aroung us like our family and etc.then to Phrophet which is to share the word to others and to guide them in the right path.and lastly to King which is to govern the people and win more lost for Him.
In Jn.8:32
It says that "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free."
The incorruptable seed of truth that is in us given by the word of God.
-For the critirial of our heart is the truth and only truth can serve the purpose of God.
-For whatever we practice in private,we will eventually practice it in public also.
-And that sucess only comes when we're faithful in the things that we do.
Lk.16:10-12
"He who is faithful in the least is also faithful in much..."

And in the bible He speaks of Fiathful Growth in faith which is in 2 Pet.1:5-15 the 7 critirial to look out for inorder for us to grow.
1:Faith Virtue.-Which is the Strength to help us all stand upon the word firmly against the devils temtatons.
2:Knowledge
3:Slef-control
4:Preserverance
5:Godliness
6:Brotherly kindness
7:Love

Whereas in 2 Tim.3:1-5 it speaks of the 5 sins of what earthen beings have which is against the Spisit of God.They are;
1:Lust
2:Idolatry
3:Fornication
4:Tempting Christ
5:Murmering

-For the wisdom of God will reveals things and on the otherhand human wisdom will cover it up.
-And Gods wisdom will cleanse us and scrub us totally clean.

So Friends i really hope that by sharing will help us all to grow though it is what was being thaught in the manhoods conference. But Everyone is a child of God ya?
So let us all Rise up and do more things for God Amen?
May God bless N276 and make our cg to grow and mulitply...

He can turn the tides

dear n276,

just want to share with everyone the lyrics of a song that i learnt in primary school and that i just recalled. tong knows this song too and maybe yvonne as well.

the song is called "He" and it reassures us that God's presence is always with us, He will always answer our cries and know our deepest needs, and He'll see us through good times and bad. let's all learn to trust in God at all times and never to lean on our own understanding.

He

He can turn the tide and calm the angry sea

He alone decides who writes a symphony

He lights every star that makes our darkness bright

He keeps watch all through each long and lonely night

He still finds the time to hear a child's first prayer

Saint or sinner call and always find Him there

Though it makes Him sad to see the way we live

He'll always say "I forgive"

He can grant a wish or make a dream come true

He can paint the clouds and turn the grey to blue

He alone knows where to find the rainbow's end

He alone can see what lies beyond the bend

He can touch a tree and turn the leaves to gold

He knows every lie that you and I have told

Though it makes Him sad to see the way we live

He'll always say "I forgive"

am reminded of His love for me again, and i'll definitely strive to find comfort in Him everyday instead of leaning on my own understanding. i see now that God has always had me on His mind, putting me through kindergarten at a church, 10 years of education in a methodist school, bringing me to junior college and introducing me to a friend who brought me to her church and to know fellow Christians in school (and we would meet during our tues break to sing and pray together), then giving me the opportunity to come back to Him when i left my friend's church and drifted away from Him for a period of time. and He's given me an aunt who constantly reminds me of how to be a good Christian.

am so glad that i've a wonderful family in Christ now, and it's you guys in n276. although at times the bond is not as strong as it could be, and although sometimes i get a bit disillusioned, i know that we're definitely going to grow more united and loving towards one another, with God's help.

love all of you, love our wonderful church and our wonderful God. have a great week ahead!

God's minute of the week

WHERE THERE IS NO [REVELATION]*, THE PEOPLE CAST OFF RESTRAINT; BUT HAPPY IS HE WHO KEEPS THE LAW. ( PROVERBS 29:18 *NKJV )

Dear N276,The Hebrew word for [revelation] here refers to the Words of God as received by the Prophets. Thus meaning: "WHERE THERE IS NO WORD FROM GOD, THE PEOPLE CAST OFF RESTRAINT."

Now just think for a moment what our lives would be like without the Word of God. There would be no peace in our lives, and we would be void of God's Great Love for us as well. We would have no one to give us strength, hope and faith when dealing with the problems in our life! Our lives would therefore be truly empty, and worry and confusion would rule in our lives!

As Children of God we read and study His Word, and know of His Great Love and Compassion for us! We also know that we are in Him and He is in us, for it is written: FOR IN HIM WE LIVE AND MOVE AND HAVE OUR BEING. ( ACTS 17:28 )

Thank Heaven that God chose us to be His Children for it is written: YOU DID NOT CHOOSE ME, BUT I CHOSE YOU AND APPOINTED YOU. ( JOHN 15:16 )

So the next time that you count all of your blessings, remember to also count the fact that God chose YOU to be a Child of His! Just think of how important YOU are to God and what a blessing it is to be selected as a Child of His! Praise The Lord! Amen.

A MEANINGFUL STORY

Dear Friends, today, I am gonna post a story which I feel is very meaningful. It may not apply to everyone but I sure does apply to me. Here It is:

One day all the employees reached the office and they saw a big notice on the door on which it was written: 'Yesterday the person who has been hindering your growth in this company passed away. We invite you to join the funeral in the room that has been prepared in the gym'.

In the beginning, they all got sad for the death of one of their colleagues, but after a while they started getting curious to know who was that man who hindered the growth of his colleagues and the company itself. The excitement in the gym was such that security agents were ordered to control the crowd within the room. The more people reached the coffin, the more the excitement heated up. Everyone thought: 'Who is this guy who was hindering my progress? Well, at least he died!'.

One by one the thrilled employees got closer to the coffin, and when they looked inside it they suddenly became speechless. They stood nearby the coffin, shocked and in silence, as if someone had touched the deepest part of their soul.

There was a mirror inside the coffin: everyone who looked inside it could see himself. There was also a note next to the mirror that said: 'There is only one person who is capable to set limits to your growth: it is YOU. You are the only person who can revolutionize your life. You are the only person who can influence your happiness, your realization and your success. You are the only person who can help yourself. Your life does not change when your boss changes, when your friends change, when your parents change, when your partner changes, when your company changes. Your life changes when YOU change, when you go beyond your limiting beliefs, when you realize that you are the only one responsible for your life. 'The most important relationship you can have is the one you have with yourself' Examine yourself, watch yourself. Don't be afraid of difficulties, impossibilities and losses: be a winner, build yourself and your reality. It's the way you face Life that makes the difference.

As human ... we can do that much!!
But for us as children of God, we can even make a lot of difference in HIS Strength!!

God's Minute

I SAID, "O LORD, HAVE MERCY ON ME; HEAL ME, FOR I HAVE SINNED AGAINST YOU." ( PSALM 41:4 *NIV )

Dear N276,
When we fall victim to sin, we may repent of our sins and ask God for forgiveness. For it is written: "COME NOW, LET US REASON TOGETHER," SAYS THE LORD. "THOUGH YOUR SINS ARE LIKE SCARLET, THEY SHALL BE AS WHITE AS SNOW; THOUGH THEY ARE RED AS CRIMSON, THEY SHALL BE LIKE WOOL." ( ISAIAH 1:18 )

This is because: IF WE CONFESS OUR SINS, HE IS FAITHFUL AND JUST AND WILL FORGIVE US OUR SINS AND PURIFY US FROM ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS. ( 1 JOHN 1:9 ) FOR YOU, LORD ARE GOOD, AND READY TO FORGIVE, AND ABUNDANT IN MERCY TO ALL WHO CALL ON YOU. ( PSALM 86:5 )

Further, God has even promised: I WILL FORGIVE THEIR WICKEDNESS AND WILL REMEMBER THEIR SINS NO MORE. ( HEBREWS 8:12 ) So never feel that you have done something that God will not forgive.

Therefore N276, PRAISE BE TO THE LORD, OUR SAVIOR, WHO DAILY BEARS OUR BURDENS. ( PSALM 68:19 ) Praise HIM indeed! Amen.

BUILT TO LAST!!!!

Well, today, I am going to do something I have no idea how to do but I just do my best. Tong Yan, you owe me lunch for this. haha kidding. well, Dorry here and today's post is on last week's sermon on built to last. Well, for us have a long term growth spiritually in God, values are necessary (Matt 12:25). Well below, are 10 important values needed for long term growth

2 Peter 1:5-11
5For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. 8For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.
10Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall, 11and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

1. Loyalty
Believing and living the life of a disciple of Christ. Applying it to other areas of life; loyalty to company, spouse etc.
2. Committment
commited to vision, goals and mission
3. Respect
everyone is under authority; submission is a kingdom attitude Phil 2:5-11
4. Accountability
maintaining relationships and staying connected with God and people God places ard you.
John 15:5
5. Family
Honor God with ur life; spend time with ur love ones. =)
6. Love
Forgiveness, Mercy or Grace towards one another. Faith moves through Love!
1 Cor 13:4 Love never fails; the presence of God is His gift of love. God is Love.
7. Faithfulness
Luke 16:11-12
One has to be faithful in 1) little things, 2) other man's things and 3) finances. 1 Cor 4:2
8. Hardwork
2 Thes 3:10, Eph 4:28
9. Integrity
Your word is your bond; do as you speak. John 14:6 - Being truthful is bringing glory to God.
Live in the truth in both your social and private life!
10. Generosity
Be a giver! Acts 20:35 (best way to break envy is to be a giver)
1 Tim 6:6-8 - be contented, give thanks
James 3:15-16
All these values come from our ten commandments as seen in Exodus 20: 1-17. Go see your bible!!!

Also, there is also a meaning behind V.A.L.U.E.S.

Visible
Attract
Lead
Unite
Establish
Standard

Prov 3:1-8
1 My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart,
2 for they will prolong your life many years and bring you prosperity.
3 Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and shun evil.
8 This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.

Well, thats all that can come to my mind as thats all is in my book.

God Bless

New life found in HIM

I'm so happy to have my life found by God again..
Though i've run away from Him so many time that i couldn't even number them...
But God is always faithful and good...And He even call me by my name and reminding me of my youth where by out of so many kind of accesories i always like to wear cross accesories...
And how over joy i am when i got my 1st cross necklace...How He had called me when i was in boy's home, how he let me know denise and the rest in boy's home and through them i got to know matthew. And how i 1st joined w224 which is the adult cell group led by joanne,on how he had touched me when i 1st step into church...
How great is our God that He had sacrificed His one and only Son Jesus Christ my Lord and saviour to died for my sins and forgive me time and again when i know that i had hurt Him so much...I'm really happy to have my Heavenly Father and to be back in His love, grace and presence once more...And now letting me knowing so many wonderful people in my new cg led by catherine N276...I'm so happy to know all of you...To me really nothing on earth worth that much to me than my destiny in Him and to Love Him more...I've always thought that only earthly love is real...But truely His love is real and great...I'm really am in such joy and would like to share wid you guys this joy...And would like to say...No matter what comes...Even if the mountian is super high...Nothing is impossible for God...And let us all not Give up and relly on His almighty strength...ya...Though i may face problems now in my life...But its normal for it to come for i'm part of God's household now...So i will hold on to God and His word steadfastly and never say to Him that i can do it on my own anymore....
GOD BLESS N276 forever...

Loving Out The Fear

All of you should be of one mind, full of sympathy toward each other, loving one another with tender hearts and humble minds. (1 Peter 3:8 NLT)

God enables us to love the fear out of one another.

We drive fear from our families and friends by loving one another so supportively that every one feels safe inside the group. (1 John 4:18) This safety allows us to bring our humanity into the open, including all our pain and joy, our ups and downs, our victories and defeats.

It means you give to others the same uncommon safety Christ gives you – to be real, to be sad, to be messed up and confused, yet to be loved.

God challenges us to create a Christ-community where we love like our lives depend upon it (1 Peter 1:22) and can each “live and move and have our being.” (Acts 17:28)

We’re to weep together and celebrate together, caring for each other equally (1 Corinthians 12:25-26) as we comfort and confront, warm and warn, cherish and challenge, within an atmosphere of supportive safety.
Loving the fear out of each other requires that we develop:

Tender hearts – We give support to each other because God gives us support, and we’re to encourage others with the encouragement we receive from him. (2 Corinthians 1:4) In the New Testament, the word ‘support’ can literally mean “to increase one another’s potential.” (Romans 14:19 NJB) We strengthen one another by extending love, instead of fostering fear, and we do that by offering relationships that are safe and sympathetic.

Humble minds –True humility focuses on the worth of others. We understand our value in Christ, and we understand that God shapes each of us for a unique purpose.

Godly eyes – Loving the fear out of our family and friends – in fact, loving the fear out of the world – means we see others for what they can be, not for what they appear to be now. Jesus called Peter a rock when the fisherman was still acting on impulse (Matt. 16:18), and God called Gideon a mighty man of courage when he was hiding from the enemy among piles of grain. (Judges 6:11-12) God calls us to encourage and affirm each other (1 Thessalonians 5:11), seeing those around us in terms of their purpose and mission in life.

What does this mean?

· God enables us to love the fear out of one another. You can love the fear out of others, and you can allow the fear to be loved out of you.

· We exhibit tender hearts when we say to one another:
§ It’s OK to have a bad day.
§ It’s OK to be tired.
§ It’s OK to admit your mistakes.
§ It’s OK to say your marriage is failing.
§ It’s OK to confess your addiction.
§ It’s OK to share you’re scared.
§ It’s OK to want a day away from your toddler.
§ It’s OK to grieve a loss.
§ It’s OK to doubt, to be confused, to cry.

· We exhibit humble minds when we say to one another:
§ It’s OK to be happy you got a new car.
§ It’s OK to celebrate that you got a huge raise.
§ It’s OK to joyfully tell us you lost 17 pounds.
§ It’s OK to say you won the sales competition.
§ It’s OK to shout “Hallelujah!” because God’s presence in your life is so good.
§ It’s OK to tell us these things because we will be as happy for you as if these blessings had come to us, and we will join you in hearty celebration.

Hey N276
Be blessed by the word =D

God's Minute- On CHILDREN OF LIGHT!!!

YOU WERE ONCE DARKNESS, BUT NOW YOU ARE LIGHT IN THE LORD. LIVE AS CHILDREN OF LIGHT, FOR THE FRUIT OF THE LIGHT CONSISTS IN ALL GOODNESS, RIGHTEOUS- NESS AND TRUTH. ( EPHESIANS 5:8-9 * NIV )

Dear N276, As Childern of Light our actions shoul reflect our faith, and shine brightly to others. We should never be afraid to show our faith no matter where we are, or who we are with. After all we are beacons of God's Love shining out into dark World that is searching for love in all the wrong places. A World that is full of people without love, hope and faith.

Therefore our Savior Jesus Christ stressed this truth in the Sermon on the Mount, for He said: "YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD. A CITY ON A HILL CANNOT BE HIDDEN. NEITHER DO PEOPLE LIGHT A LAMP AND PUT IT UNDER A BOWL. INSTEAD THEY PUT IT ON ITS STAND, AND IT GIVES LIGHT TO EVERYONE IN THE HOUSE." ( MATTHEW 5:14-15 )

Further, you probably have known people that seem to light up a room when they enter, well, IN THE SAME WAY, LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE BEFORE MEN, THAT THEY MAY SEE YOUR GOOD DEEDS AND PRAISE YOUR FATHER IN HEAVEN. ( MATTHEW 5:16 )

Now you may be thinking "my light is a dim one." Well, I believe that our dim light is magnified by the immense mirror of God's Love. Thus it truly shines brightly when we tell others about our Heavenly Father, and show goodness toward the people in our lives! So try it today and see for yourself, for if everyone would light just one little candle what a bright World this would be! Amen

Let us Love and Support Cat! =D

Dear N276,
From my experiences with Cat for nearly 2 years,
I can say that she is a great leader! =>

She is very caring, funny, beautiful and sexy!

Well, definitely it is her character that is great.
Her leadership has grown a lot since Feb 2006
till now, year 2008.
Throughout my life, I know she has been wanting
to do great things for the kingdom of God and
would feel burdened when there are no souls added
to W319 in 2007.
Cat always has been very submissive and obedient
to God and the Zs like Joanne(2006-2007) and
Ming Jing.

Regardless of her weak immune system, she will
still go to night prayer meetings without hestitation.
She always teaches me to put God first, as when I do that,
everything shall be added into my life.
Cat always want to go further than where she is right now.
She always want more of God and to reach her final destiny
God called her to.

I believe she also loves us very much!
She often tells me that we will be on her mind everyday.

If she is a man, I sure marry her!!!!!! =PPPPPPPPPP

Cat also pray for us everyday! Wow!
You all see, Cat is such a great leader! =P

Whoever says no, I will beat his or her butt!!!
I mean it! Wa haha!

In my heart, Cat is always the cheerful, bubbly and hyper-active
kind of Cat. I never see a cat like this before. I only know cats
always stay on the roadside walking aimlessly. But I noe Cat is a
cat that have directions in her life! She will not walk aimlessly
but prosperously! => Amen?! =DD

Cat is a good cat and Cat is a great leader!

N276, Lets support Cat all the way despite what may happen!
And pray when she is sick! =P =D

Cat, N276 LOVES you!!! ~yilin!~

How We Grow

How we grow part 1.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Hi guys!!!,
God wants us to grow up.
Our heavenly father's goal is for you to mature and develop the characteristics of Jesus Christ.
*Spiritual growth is not automatic. It takes intentional commitment. You must WANT to grow, DECIDE to grow, MAKE AN EFFORT to grow, and finally PERSIST in growing. Discipleship-The process of becoming like Christ- always begins with a DECISION.

*Nothing shapes your life more than the commitments you choose to make.
*** We BECOME whatever we are COMMITTED to.
It may be bad, it may be good. But all defines you.

*** Every choice has eternal consequences, so you better choose WISELY!

God's part and your part.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Christlikeness is the result of making Christlike choices and depending on his spirit to help you fufill those choices.

You can be certain that the Holy Spirit will help you with these changes. The Bible says," Continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.

This verse shows two parts of spiritual growth: 'work out' and 'work in.'
The 'work out' is your RESPONBILITY , and the 'work in' is God's role. =>

*Spiritual growth is a COLLABORATIVE effort between you and the Holy Spirit.
*God's spirit works WITH us, not just in us.

May you grow! With Warmest Wishes,
^yilin!^

Let's learn hymns! =)

Hi! Just want to share with u all! These are actually popular hymns that I've learnt when I'm still schooling in Secondary school!

I've put the songs in the playlist & here are the lyrics:

1) You are my all in all

You are my strength when I am weak
You are the treasure that I seek
You are my all in all

Seeking You like a precious jewel
Lord to give up I'd be a fool
You are my all in all

Chorus:
Jesus lamb of God Holy is your name (2x)

Taking my cross my sin my shame
raising again I praise your name
You are my all in all

When I fall down You pick me up
when I run dry You fill my cup
You are my all in all
(Repeat Chorus)

comments: This is one of my all-time favourite! This song has a "broken-heart" only for Jesus! It has a nice tune and lyrics!

2) I Give You My Heart

This is my desire, to honour You.

Lord with all my heart I worship You.

All I have within me I give You praise All that I adore is in You....

CHORUS:

Lord I give You my heart. I give you my soul.

I live for You alone

Every breath that I take

Every moment I'm awake

Lord have Your way in me.

comments: This song we sang last week! In Pst Tan's Forgiveness sermon! haha it's very nice, also in the playlist! Everyone knows this song right?

Enjoy! =)

Power of Focus Sermon 05-06 January 2008, Pastor Kong Hee

Luke 11:34 (KJV) -Position urself well, be stable.

FOCUS Light has tremedous power- e.g. Sun vs laser beam

Best example: JESUS! (focus in His life calling)

Luke 9:51-53 ' setting His face' Jesus was so focused that His whole face, body and attitude showed the immense concentration.

Phil 3: 13-14 'press towards the goal' (go on to the next level- become better!)

1 Cor 9: 26 ' with purpose in every step' 'fight to win'!
Luke 14:28-31 Prov 16:9
God's will for us to plan our lives, He is still the Author and Finisher. But we have to live our lives.

"GOALS give hands and legs to your dreams" Pst Kong

S.M.A.R.T.E.R. Goals:

1) Specific - God only answers specific prayers.
" If you don't know your designation, how do you know u've arrived?"

2) Measurable - Quantify ur goals!

3) Action Plans- sit down and write smaller plans to acheive ur goals.

4) Realistic- is ur goals within your control?
Be a dreamer, not a day-dreamer! Take control of ur life by setting reachable goals.

5) Time-Consicous - When? set a specific date, don't write someday, one day etc.

6) Expectation Management- being flexible
prov 13:19

a) Goals cannot be met, adjust to fit situation.
b) Goals are achieved in less than specified time, increase intensity of goal or add other goals to be acheived by 2008!

7) REVELATION!!
Ask yourself when u're setting goals for this year: WHOM am I here for?
Because we are Christians, we want to lead God-centred lives. Thus we want to set goals that can help us stay focus on our life calling and glorify God.

** What is the opposite of focus? Distraction

John 3:22 , John 4: 1-3

1) Don't get distracted by interim successes.

they're nt the real deal, be focus on ur core ministry in life!

2) Don't get distracted by competition.
John 3:22-26, John 21:17-22

3) Don't get distracted by the pain of life.
Hebrews 11:2

Now write down 3 goals for the year 2008 in any aspect of your life. could be your health, your family salvation, your appearance, grades, finances etc. And lift them to God. For more in-depth planning, kindly refer to ur goal setting card 2008! Use it well.

The quality of ur goal setting may determine the quality of your life for 2008!

For N276 members, Catherine wants to see our filled card this sat ( 12 Jan). Cya for Cell Grp and service! God Bless You! =D
