Let's Be A People of Love :)

The year 2007 is about to draw to a close and Christmas is coming! It’s the time of the year when we reflect on what we have done over this year, and look forward to better things to come in the next year :).

This time last year, I had yet to join the CHC family, and I’d just like to share how my life has changed ever since I went for my first service at CHC on 31st dec last year. I feel that CHC is so different from other churches because it is really a warm and inclusive church family. Truly, the people here love God whole-heartedly, and love people fervently. I never fail to be amazed by how I always get a feeling of warmth and acceptance when I interact with CHC people, even those I am meeting for the very first time, be it when I’m serving during ushering, or when I am attending makeup cell group at fellow church members’ houses. :) And I will always remember how everyone reached out to me constantly when I first joined church. And of course I love going for our own CG meetings! I think also that over this past year, I have become more sensitive to God’s presence, and I’m becoming a better person in so many ways. Hallelujah!

As Christmas draws near (and I know we’re all very excited!!), I’d just like to remind all of us about the need to show more care, concern and love towards our family and friends. The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs… (Love) always protects, always trust, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.”

Let us always remember to show love to those around us, especially our family, whom we tend to neglect and foresake at times when we’re busy or caught up in ourselves. Let us reach out to friends who need us, let’s reach out to friends who need to come back to our Heavenly Father. Let’s reach out to the lost. And throughout all these, let’s display love, just as our Father loves us. Let’s continue to let others around us sense the spirit of love and friendliness. For myself, I will definitely try to extend to everyone around me the warmth that I find so attractive and welcoming in CHC people :).
